Job Summary
Coordinate with clients to define data-driven solutions, architect automated workflows, and conduct analysis on large structured and unstructured datasets to solve complex intelligence issues. Lead solution design, refine pre-existing processes, and use exploratory data analysis to identify patterns from diverse data sets. Combine applied mathematics and programming skills to deliver impactful insights for decision makers while conducting peer reviews to improve workflow quality. Mentor team members to increase technical skills and build high-performing teams. Operate independently in a mid-level capacity to estimate timelines, identify resources, and translate road map features into actionable tasks for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain a CI/Poly
- 9+ years of relevant experience in data science, automation, software development, data engineering, database integration, GEOINT support, or related technical disciplines
- Experience supporting IC operations
- Must have a background with intelligence experience, where they provided analysis and/or data science to an intelligence mission
- Must be able to operate at a mid-level and in an independent environment
- Must be proficient at creating processes around large data sets to identify analytical discoveries
- Proficiency in Python and its data science and visualization ecosystem, including Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Dash, Bokeh, and related libraries
- Experience querying and integrating web APIs through Python to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data
- Experience developing interactive data visualizations using Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, or comparable tools
- Experience building dashboards and analytic interfaces using Dash, Streamlit, Panel, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying relational databases
- Experience using Git-based version control platforms such as GitLab or GitHub
- Proficiency with geospatial processing frameworks such as GDAL or ArcPy
- Proficiency with GIS desktop software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
- Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation related to software systems and automated workflows
- Ability to operate independently at a senior level with limited oversight
- Familiarity with USSOCOM and broader U.S. military organizational structures
- Familiarity with common Intelligence Community (IC) data repositories
- Demonstrated experience connecting multiple databases and enterprise systems to automate data collection, transformation, and dissemination
- Experience automating repetitive business or analytic tasks using scripts and workflows
- Experience gathering and disseminating metrics and operational data
- Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement automation solutions that improve workflow performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- An understanding of Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) operating within the USSOUTHCOM AOR
- An understanding of coca cultivation and production areas
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 203 (Analytic Standards) and ICD 206
- An understanding of how to operationalize the analytic output—shape/frame it in a way that supports operational planning
Desired Qualifications
- Possess Master's degree in Data Science or related technical field
- Experience developing and working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
- Demonstrated experience of advanced programming techniques, using one or more of the following: HTML 5/Javascript, ArcObjects, Python, Model Builder, Oracle, SQL, GIScience, GeospatiavAnalysis, Statistics, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Arc SDE, ArcIMS
- Experience using NET, Python, C++, and/or JAVA programming for web interface development and geodatabase development
- Experience building and maintaining databases of GEOINT, SIGINT, or OSINT data related to the area of interest needs
- Data Visualization Experience which may include Matrix Analytics, Network Analytics, Graphing Data that assist the analytical workforce in generating common operational pictures depicting fused intelligence and information to support informal assessments and finished products
