Job Summary
Perform groundwater and vapor treatment system engineering calculations, remediation system data tabulation, and report preparation. Prepare remedial action plans, pilot test workplans, and permit applications while coordinating directly with subcontractors, vendors, and laboratories. Execute field tasks including operation and maintenance of remediation systems, site sampling, soil excavation, and contractor oversight for trenching and piping installation. Travel within the Northeast region to perform field work as necessary and complete health and safety observations. Report to a Principal Engineer within the Islandia, NY-based Northeast Region engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil)
- 3-5 years of related environmental consulting experience
- Must be resourceful with excellent communication and writing skills
- Must possess a high degree of initiative and time management skills
- Must be able to wear personal protection equipment and work outdoors in all seasons
Desired Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification or Professional Engineer registration
- Stormwater or civil engineering experience
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand tools
