Job Summary
Design and analyze electrical systems for power, industrial, and renewable energy projects, including plant retrofits and new installations. Prepare functional design drawings, specifications, and detailed calculations for voltage drop, protective relay settings, and arc flash studies. Coordinate system design activities to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements while interfacing with vendors for equipment procurement. Assist project leads in delivering projects on time and within budget, conducting design reviews and field verification at plant sites. Utilize modern tools and automation to improve workflows and deliver cost-effective designs.
Required Qualifications
- A BS in Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- 3 or more years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design
- Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
- Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations
- Technically knowledgeable of available electrical power distribution equipment
- This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week
- This position may require occasional travel
Desired Qualifications

- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training
- Experience performing calculations in ETAP and/or SKM
- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation
- a minor, certificate, or other training in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
