Job Summary

Design industrial control and power panels end-to-end, selecting components and creating schematics, one-line diagrams, and wire run lists. Develop test plans and fixtures to validate hardware performance while configuring and debugging PLC and HMI software for SCADA applications. Read, interpret, and debug control system architectures from sensors through motor drives, and contribute to compliance activities including arc flash and SCCR calculations. Provide engineering support to vendors and the manufacturing floor, documenting designs accurately within PLM systems to manage change orders. Work semi-independently to assist senior engineers in root-cause analysis and structured troubleshooting. Travel as needed with a valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 3–5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Industrial automation and/or automated equipment development (machine builders, contract development, robotics, semiconductor, medical device manufacturing equipment, or similar)
  • Low-voltage control systems and power systems up to 480 VAC
  • Test fixture design and hardware test engineering — instrumentation, data acquisition, automated test setup, and characterization
  • Motors and controls: servo/stepper/BLDC drives, encoders, motion controllers, and closed-loop tuning
  • Sensor integration and signal conditioning across analog and digital signals
  • PLC and HMI programming with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, or equivalent platforms (safety PLCs a plus), and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, CANopen, IIoT / Industry 4.0)
  • Electrical design and documentation software: EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks Electrical
  • Schematic capture and PCB design (Altium Designer, KiCAD) for custom electronics, including power supplies and signal conditioning
  • Panel safety considerations: SCCR, arc flash, LOTO, and design to global standards (NFPA 79, NEC, IEC/EN 60204-1, ISO 12100, ISO 13849-1, UL 508A, CE, TÜV)
  • UL 508A MTR a plus
  • Embedded systems and firmware development in C/C++ for support of custom electronics
  • Scripting and test automation in Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB
  • Familiarity with ECO / PLM workflows for design change management
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle

Desired Qualifications

  • safety PLCs
