Job Summary
Mid. Effects Planner to facilitate and coordinate all aspects of operational-level planning, synchronization, and integration. They provide planning support encompassing analytics, assessments, target development, and planning advocacy for subordinate commands. Drafts and staffs major special operations documents such as CONPLANs and OPORDs, and serves as the subject matter expert advising military staff on interpretation and application. Lead cross-functional planning teams to synchronize effects into a cohesive operational plan; facilitate working groups to deconflict resources, timing, and objectives; develop Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs); prepare briefings for senior leaders outlining proposed or current plans and synchronization. Location is HQ USSOCOM, MacDill AFB, FL (Tampa, FL). Minimum of 10 years of combined experience with at least 5 years since 2020 as a planner at the O-6 level or higher within USSOCOM Enterprise or equivalent interagency, and a Bachelor’s degree or 12 years of military Planner experience. Security clearance: Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain CI Poly if needed. Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent military experience. The role requires translating complex operational problems into clear briefings and reports, and working with autonomy to tackle difficult planning scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Government, International Affairs/Relations, or closely related discipline; or 12 years of military experience as a Planner
- Active TS/SCI security clearance and with the ability to obtain a CI Poly if needed
