Mid-Career Civil/Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary
Scoping, costing, and overseeing geotechnical investigations while designing subsurface improvements and foundation recommendations for civil infrastructure projects. Prepare plans, specifications, and engineering design reports for heavy civil construction, including solid waste containment systems, reservoirs, dams, and levees. Perform and review engineering calculations, evaluate contractor submittals and shop drawings, and conduct inspections for stormwater treatment areas and detention structures. Lead proposals for professional engineering services and drive vehicles to client or company project sites as needed. Requires a Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering, Professional Engineer licensure preferred, and at least five years of engineering consulting experience. Valid U.S. driver's license and strong analytical skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering.
- At least 5 years of work experience in engineering consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Advanced degree in the same.
- Experience working on projects with value of $1M to $25M
- Prior experience working on projects lead or co-lead by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or one of Florida's many Water Management Districts
- Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, eBuilder.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee engineering and other technical and administrative staff.
