Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, utilizing therapeutic communication to maintain a safe environment and identify individual nursing problems. Plan individualized patient care through an interdisciplinary approach and participate in performance improvement activities. When acting in the charge nurse role, make staff assignments based on patient need, acuity, and skill; serve as a clinical resource for the team; and respond timely to physician, staff, or patient requests. This role supports the hospital's mission as a national leader in neuroscience and an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center.
