Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace Engineer

Job Summary
Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 across multiple client tenants, managing identity, access, endpoint, and security configurations while resolving complex escalated issues. Engineer device management and provisioning with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, build automation using PowerShell and the Power Platform to reduce manual effort, and deliver projects including migrations and service rollouts. Monitor licensing, capacity, and adoption to recommend cost improvements, and act as a trusted technical advisor translating client needs into governed solutions. Maintain accurate documentation, ensure compliance with regulatory obligations such as APRA CPS 234, and mentor colleagues to uplift team capability.
Required Qualifications
- Three or more years engineering and supporting Microsoft 365 in managed service environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint Online
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance tooling, including Defender, Conditional Access and Purview
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and familiarity with Microsoft Graph for automation and reporting
- Experience with Windows Autopilot and modern device provisioning at scale
- Ability to manage competing priorities and context-switch across multiple client environments
- Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical decisions to varied audiences
- Prior experience in an MSP, consultancy or multi-tenant environment
- Exposure to Azure infrastructure, hybrid identity (Microsoft Entra Connect) and the Power Platform
- Familiarity with regulated-industry frameworks such as APRA CPS 234 / CPS 230, ISO 27001 or the Essential Eight
