Job Summary
Hybrid information security specialist responsible for planning and implementing information protection measures for Microsoft 365 using Purview and related services. Develop and enforce DLP policies, establish data retention, monitor insider risk, oversee information security alerts and activities, and design data classification strategies. Responsible for IAM for collaboration services, Entra ID and Exchange Online administration, data-at-rest encryption, service onboarding, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning. Collaborate with governance, data, and security roles to implement policies and controls; provide training and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in managing and securing Microsoft 365 environments
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Information Systems or an equivalent field
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Exchange On-Premises
- SME in Purview
- Experience with Azure Information Protection and data-at-rest encryption
- Strong knowledge of security and compliance features within Microsoft 365 (data protection, encryption, access control, data retention)
- Ability to use PowerShell for automation and management tasks
- Familiarity with identity federation and business continuity planning
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (highly preferred)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (highly preferred)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (highly preferred)
