Job Summary
Senior Microservices Architect to lead the design and evolution of large-scale microservices ecosystems built on modern container platforms and cloud-native technology stacks. Define architecture standards, decompose legacy monoliths, design REST/gRPC and event-driven patterns (including CQRS/outbox), establish API contracts and governance, design platform capabilities (service mesh, API gateway, identity propagation, observability), drive performance, CI/CD, testing standards, and risk mitigation with zero-trust security. Mentor engineers and tech leads, lead architecture reviews across multiple teams, and evaluate emerging cloud-native technologies for strategic fit. 8+ years of experience; remote US; full-time W2 engagement on in-house SOW with no C2C/3rd-party arrangements; H1B transfers welcomed but no new sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Eight or more years of software engineering experience, with several years in architecture roles
- Deep expertise in microservices design, domain-driven design, and distributed systems patterns
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies
- Proficiency in at least one major backend language such as Java, Go, or C#
- Strong understanding of API design, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous messaging
- Experience operating high-traffic, latency-sensitive systems in production
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and managed services across at least one major provider
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture initiatives spanning multiple teams
