Microbiology Technologist

Microbiology Technologist to join Labcorp in Overland Park, KS. Responsibilities include determining specimen acceptability for testing, performing routine and complex procedures per SOP, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, making technical decisions regarding testing, preparing and evaluating reagents or controls, reporting accurate test results, performing preventative maintenance and QC, replenishing testing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe work environment with appropriate PPE. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology and 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience (MLS degree acceptable). ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Ability to work independently and in a team, strong attention to detail, and flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
