Job Summary
Manage the quality and operations of the QC Microbiology department, ensuring multi-tasking meets sample turnaround times and client satisfaction. Provide technical support for client validation and verification, organize offsite and onsite meetings, and assist sales with technical proposals. Write protocols, technical reports, and quotations while investigating customer complaints within one business day and implementing CAPAs. Ensure timely responses to analytical testing requests, coordinate sample logistics and billing, and lead departmental projects to improve internal efficiency. Prepare and revise quality documentation to maintain standards across the laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology or equivalent in experience or training
- Up to 10 years previous analytical laboratory management experience
- Through knowledge of microbiology principles plus demonstrated expertise in one or more disciplines of analytical microbiology
- Ability to lead, coordinate workload and manage a department
- Ability to interpret and analyze data
- Ability to troubleshoot assay / equipment problems as needed to minimize down time
