Job Summary
Tests in-process finished products and stability samples using official microbiology test methods. Analyzes raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and stability samples per protocol. Develops, validates, and writes test methods; writes reports and submits forms to Microbiology Supervisor for release. Prepares and standardizes media and reagents; maintains records, notebooks, inventories, labeling, and proper waste disposal. Maintains cleanliness and good housekeeping in the lab. Responds to deviations by notifying Supervisor, reviewing causes, recommending corrective actions, and suggesting improvements to standards. Maintains daily logs and laboratory materials; assists with physical inventories and general duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Microbiology or related science degree
- 2 years of related experience
- Good visual/organoleptic alertness
- Aseptic sampling/transfer
- Testing media preparation
- Handling of live bacterial organism
- Instrumental analysis
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
