Job Summary
Microbiologist/Lab and QMS Technician will perform QA/QC tasks, traditional and molecular lab testing, and support quality management. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory operations per QMS, CLIA and ISO regulations; reagent and instrument qualification; test system validation; equipment maintenance; specimen management; inventory management; data analysis; assisting senior staff; preparing datasheets and SOPs; data management; audits preparation; and participating in meetings. Requirements include a Life Sciences bachelor’s degree, BSL-2/BSL-3 familiarity, adherence to safety standards, SOP compliance, MS Excel/Word proficiency, independent and team work, strong organizational and communication skills, and US work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences to include Biology, Microbiology, or closely related field
- Practical knowledge of Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) or Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) procedures
- Ability to understand and adhere to strict laboratory safety standards, quality management and laboratory practices
- Ability to rigorously follow highly detailed SOPs to perform assigned tasks
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently while maintaining the flexibility to respond to the needs of the program
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organization skills and keen attention to detail and deadlines and the ability to multitask
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States.
