Job Summary
Advanced microbiology role performing whole genome sequencing on pathogenic organisms, nucleic acid extraction, real-time PCR, QC/troubleshooting, and dry/wet lab sequence analysis. Provides technical consultation and training on virology testing and surveillance; supports implementation of new molecular technologies, such as sequencing platforms, and uses LIMS to manage samples and report results. Work is conducted under the AMD Coordinator in Exton, PA, with direct interaction with supervisors and laboratory teams to ensure CLIA-compliant molecular testing and high-quality public health reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 20 microbiology-related credits and 12 chemistry/biochemistry credits OR graduate degree in microbiology
- Experience with sequencing is a must
- One year of professional laboratory work experience in microbiology (minimum)
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license (may be required)
- Background risk assessment check (may be required)
