Microbiologist I (Normal Office Hours initially | Future 12 Rotating Shift Opportunity)

Job Summary
Conduct quality control microbiological testing of raw materials, incoming goods, intermediates, and finished products under cGMP conditions for QC release or stability studies. Perform method transfer, verification, and validation for new product introductions, while monitoring facility utilities and supporting equipment qualification processes. Coordinate laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, lead microbiological inventory, and participate in investigations to ensure data accuracy and compliance. Adhere strictly to cGMP, 5S, and safety standards, including PPE usage and aseptic techniques, while reporting accidents and rule breaches promptly. Work during 12-hour shifts with adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 years experience in quality control laboratory environment
- Strong knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and quality management systems
- Experience with microbiological testing methods and aseptic techniques
- Ability to follow SOPs and maintain detailed documentation per GDP requirements
- Strong computer skills including LIMS, Microsoft Office, and analytical software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration
- Knowledge of relevant pharmacopeia standards and regulatory requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Physical ability to perform laboratory work including PPE usage
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
- Support shift work when necessary
- Understand and follow emergency procedures and safe work systems
- Ensure compliance with environment, health, safety, and security policies and procedures, rules, signage, and instructions at all times
- Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and rule breaches promptly
