Job Summary
Microbiologist I performs in-process and release testing of injectable pharmaceuticals, including final product microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, growth promotion testing, and identification. Responsibilities include bioburden, sterility, and bacterial endotoxin testing, operating monitoring systems, data entry, maintaining environmental records, supporting validation projects, and contributing to process improvements using Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma. Requires GMP awareness, documentation control familiarity, and the ability to work early shifts and weekends. Legal work authorization in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related Science degree
- Availability for early shifts and weekends as needed
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Access)
- Experience with microbiological techniques (gram stain/microbial ID, aseptic, gowning)
- Knowledge of bioburden, sterility and bacterial endotoxin testing (preferred)
- Ability to distinguish color
