Job Summary
Operate 16"–26" microtrenching equipment, including Ditch Witch and slurry hopper machines, for fiber optic pathway installation and trench restoration. Perform precise trench cutting while maintaining proper depth and alignment, then coordinate with support crews during excavation and conduit installation activities. Read construction prints and utility maps to ensure compliance with safe excavation practices and production standards. Maintain equipment and report mechanical issues as needed. This role supports underground telecom construction projects across California, requiring experience with slurry backfill systems and active jobsites.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years old
- Valid driver license with clean driving record
- Self-motivated with ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Experience operating 16"–26" micro trenching equipment
- Knowledge of slurry backfill and restoration operations
- Understanding of underground utility awareness and safe excavation practices
- Experience with fiber optic construction and conduit installation
- Ability to work in production-based construction environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check
