Micro-Technician

Job Summary
Micro Technician responsible for microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products, and utilities; prepare samples for micro analysis; collect water and sugar samples; inventory supplies; monitor sanitation and environmental sampling; validate sanitation effectiveness; pull micro samples aseptically and maintain control points; document results and trends in accordance with Prime Beverage Group quality systems. Requires close collaboration with production and sanitation, a bachelor’s degree in microbiology/biology/biochemistry or related field, and practical lab experience in microbiology; strong attention to detail, good communication, and ability to stand for long hours. Day shift on a 12-hour schedule (06:00 AM - 06:30 PM) at Concord, NC and Kannapolis, NC locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry or related field
- At least 1 year of Microbiology Lab experience
- Proficient with Word and Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Standing for long hours
- Lifting 25lbs or more
- Good Laboratory Practice to prevent cross contamination
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, biochemistry or related field
- At least 1 year of Microbiology Lab experience
- 1 year in Food/Beverage preferred
- Proficient with basic computer software (Word, Excel)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Standing for long hours
- Lifting 25 lbs or more
- Good Laboratory Practice to prevent cross contamination
- HACCP Certification a plus
