Job Summary

Set and uphold department standards for customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, and profitability. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate employees while coordinating schedules and daily work plans. Oversee ordering, replenishment, pricing, and bookkeeping; analyze sales trends to prepare ad projections and plan promotions. Ensure proper product temperatures, storage, and freshness standards to minimize shrink, while troubleshooting equipment and managing inventory. Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed. This role leads the Mia Italian department at Hy-Vee, driving performance in a fast-paced environment where the team sets the tone for customer engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18+
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 100 pounds or more, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar material-handling equipment (required operator certification must be completed prior to independent use)
  • Ability to safely use sharp knives and blades to cut, trim, or grind product
  • Ability to unload, lift, stock, and rotate incoming truck freight and merchandise
  • Ability to work in cooler or freezer environments for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a cardboard baler or compactor
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with dough mixing, scaling, and proofing
  • Ability to work in areas with temperature extremes and dampness
  • Ability to encounter equipment movement hazards, electrical equipment, and cleaning products or solvents
  • Ability to maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen

  • Ability to handle confidential information, including employee compensation, sales data, and inventory reports, with discretion
