MHP Crisis Outreach Specialist - Swing Shift

Job Summary
As a member of DESC's Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team, respond in teams of two to adults in crisis experiencing mental health or substance use crises, providing crisis intervention, assessments, linkage to services, and follow-up to prevent unnecessary use of emergency rooms or confinement. Conduct multi-axial assessments, crisis stabilization, and meaningful engagement; develop and implement plans to connect clients with needed services; document and collect data; advocate for clients and coordinate with community providers to ensure continuity of care; support DESC staff and participate in clinical reviews and trainings; travel across King County in various community settings to address crises and support safe, dignified resolution of crises.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed AAC credential or superseding credential to act as a Mental Health Professional per RCW 71.05.020
- Master's degree in social work, psychology or related behavioral science OR Bachelor of Nursing with specialty in mental health
- Ability to drive (valid WA license and insurable driving record)
- Pass a Washington State criminal background check
- Knowledge of Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, Trauma Informed Treatment, Evidence-based/Emerging best practices
- Knowledge of Harm Reduction strategies
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Willingness to provide community outreach anywhere in King County
- Familiar with King County crisis response system and relevant resources
- Ability to work with clients displaying a wide range of behaviors
- Commitment to client partnership and recovery-oriented approach
