MHE Tech - Part time

Job Summary
This role provides hands-on support in maintaining Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and industrial batteries. Responsibilities include safety compliance, learning/performing electrical repairs and welding, preventive maintenance of MHE fleets (oil levels, belts, chains, motors, controls, PM per manufacturer recommendations), hydraulic and mechanical systems troubleshooting, battery maintenance (chargers, watering, cleaning, equalizing charges), and CMMS data entry. The incumbent will participate in on-call coverage, maintain tools, ensure OSHA and local regulations compliance, and contribute to building/grounds projects. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with liability coverage, completion of Sysco’s defensive driving program, and obtaining required MHE certifications within defined timelines; two years of MHE maintenance experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED; Tech school or equivalent preferred (2 years)
- Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards
- Complete Sysco-approved defensive driving program within 3 months
- Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
- MHE 8 hour maintenance tech certificate from MHE manufacturer preferred
