Job Summary
Manage departmental staffing plans and schedules while overseeing compliance with productivity targets and regulatory policies. Define performance objectives, audit patient and department records, and maintain nursing supplies inventory by analyzing usage trends. Collaborate with other departments to solve issues impacting patient care delivery and incorporate quality improvement data into goals. Develop and implement action plans to optimize outcomes, model desired behaviors for a healthy work environment, and ensure unit compliance with accrediting standards. Maintain current licenses and certifications, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
- BSN
- Current Nursing License from the state of Texas
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification (if department is PACU or ER)
- ENPC or TNCC certifications (if department is ER)
- 5 years of clinical experience
- Verbal and writing ability
- Numerical ability
- Ability to receive, comprehend, and carry out instructions
- Ability to work safely with equipment, supplies, and materials
- Ability to comply with attendance requirements
- Ability to comply with Human Resource policies
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Rarely lift more than 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- ENPC or TNCC certifications (if department is ER)
- 5 years of clinical experience
