Job Summary
Manage all aspects of preventative maintenance, safety, and security for the hotel. Coordinate and perform routine, preventive, and emergency interior and exterior maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and kitchen systems. Supervise, train, and delegate work orders while inspecting team quality and ensuring compliance with codes. Monitor engineering functions during absences, respond to emergencies like fire alarms and power failures, and conduct daily rounds to verify equipment readiness. Maintain logs, document parts usage, and assist with vendor contracts and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- FSD certification required after 90 days of hire
- High school diploma
- Two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction
- Minimum four years' experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance
- Hotel experience
- Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment
- Ability to perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work
- Ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment
- Ability to hear portable radio, fire alarms, machinery, guests
- Ability to inspect and maintain equipment
- Ability to respond on portable radio to base station, guests
- Ability to maintain logs and records
- Ability to lift, push, pull and carry
- Ability to bend and kneel
- 100% mobility
- Ability to climb stairs of approximately 90 steps 20% of 8 hours
- Ability to climb ladders of approximately 8 feet 10% of 8 hours
