Job Summary
The role leads the Manager, Strategic Projects & Service Improvement team responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating complex projects to achieve the Department of Education's strategic objectives and enable effective financial services for schools. Key duties include end-to-end project development and delivery, scoping with senior stakeholders to identify resourcing and milestone requirements, providing strategic advice to directors and executives, identifying and mitigating risks, building relationships with Finance and other teams to transition project outcomes into business-as-usual, and implementing continuous improvement strategies across strategic reform initiatives. The role requires demonstrated strategic leadership, portfolio management experience, innovative solution design for large organizational challenges, strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder influence, and ability to operate in a change-driven government environment. Essential requirements include qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, commitment to public education, and eligibility to work in Australia (with WWCC where applicable). The position is located in Parramatta, NSW, with a flexible working arrangement and a 35-hour week, offering salary in the Clerk Grade 11/12 band and opportunities for career growth.
