Job Summary
Monitor and operate IBM Mainframe production systems, ensuring maximum availability and reliability through daily job scheduling, batch processing, and console monitoring. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents in a timely manner, escalating issues when required while coordinating with infrastructure, application support, and database teams. Execute operational procedures, disaster recovery activities, and scheduled maintenance tasks, maintaining documentation and logs to ensure compliance with security policies and change management processes. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 production support during critical events and planned maintenance. Requires strong knowledge of z/OS, JES2/JES3, TSO/ISPF, and job scheduling tools like CA-7 or Control-M.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe operations
- Strong knowledge of z/OS operating system
- Experience with JES2/JES3, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and IBM Mainframe console operations
- Experience with job scheduling tools such as CA-7, Control-M, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, or equivalent
- Familiarity with CICS, DB2, IMS, RACF, and batch processing environments
- Experience monitoring production systems and handling critical incidents
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willingness to work shifts and provide 24/7 production support when required
