Job Summary
Perform calibration and verification of measurement tools and equipment, and troubleshoot malfunctioning metrology instruments. Conduct Gage R&R studies, develop calibration procedures, and provide technical training on metrology principles. Analyze measurement data to identify trends, ensure compliance with industry standards, and participate in selecting new metrology equipment. This role requires an Associate's degree, two years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency with precision tools like CMMs and GD&T specifications. Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, performing calibration and measurement
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators)
- Strong understanding of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, and quality control systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on metrology equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with programming CMMs using PC-DMIS or Calypso software
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis
- Certified Metrology Technician (CMT) or similar professional certification
- Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards and their application
- Experience with calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment
