Job Summary
Metrology Technician based at Brooks Instrument headquarters in Hatfield, PA. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair test and measurement equipment; administer calibration databases; set up, test, calibrate and maintain equipment; analyze, repair, and troubleshoot metrology equipment; establish calibration intervals; update calibration and asset-tracking databases; conduct experiments in metrology development and process improvement; interact with production supervisors to meet production requirements; assist in preparing calibration and maintenance procedures; support continuous improvement initiatives; follow safety procedures; maintain records; perform manual calibration of dimensional, torque, pressure, electronic, analog, and proprietary equipment using lab standards; create test procedures using manufacturers specs; support customer and ISO audits; participate in training and mentoring; work in a team environment; located at Hatfield, PA with opportunities to work with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certification in electronic engineering technician (EET) or an Associate degree in a relevant metrology field preferred
- 1+ years relevant experience in calibration/metrology in a commercial laboratory
- Advanced understanding of metrological standards (e.g., flow, pressure, vacuum, mechanical)
- Strong communication skills; including written, verbal and listening skills
- Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to provide precise, accurate and repeatable calibration data
- Understand and demonstrate use of electrical/electronic equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, power supplies, and DAQ’s
- Advanced PC knowledge including Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, NIST
- Experience in communication with customer and peers, including ability to mentor or train
