Job Summary
Metrology Technician role focused on developing metrology procedures, operating scanning and measurement systems, automating workflows, and delivering inspection reports to support race-car builds. Responsibilities include metrology protocol development, measurement execution and toolchain management, automation and scripting for data processing, inspection and quality assurance across engineering and race-team groups, and contributing to standardized metrology practices. Key skills include GD&T interpretation, structured-light scanning (ZEISS ATOS, Hexagon), tactile measurement tools (FAROArm, CMMs, iGPS), Python for automation, data integration with engineering/quality systems, and the ability to generate clear inspection reports.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or precision measurement
- Familiarity or coursework with CAD, Siemens NX preferred
- Proficiency with structured‐light scanning systems (ATOS, Hexagon, or equivalent)
- Experience with tactile measurement tools (FAROArm, CMMs, laser trackers, or iGPS)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, datum schemes, and alignment strategies
- Working knowledge of Python for automation, scripting, or data processing
- Ability to create clear, concise inspection reports and communicate findings effectively
- Hands‐on mindset with the ability to work in a fast‐paced, detail‐driven environment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overtime when necessary
