Metrology Technician II

Job Summary

Conduct calibration, maintenance, and repair of measurement and test equipment throughout the facility to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Schedule and perform calibrations, troubleshoot instrumentation issues, and coordinate with external vendors for timely calibration of designated equipment by certified laboratories. Complete calibration certificates, review calibration data for accuracy, and enter data using calibration software. Maintain accurate M&TE procedures, documentation, and up-to-date training records while reading and interpreting SOPs. Communicate instrumentation problems with users and management.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of one (1) years metrology technician or related work experience
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening
  • May be required to obtain and maintain gowning certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as, but not limited to, safety instructions, standard operating procedures, policies, and manuals
  • Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding and effective application of written and oral instruction
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new manufacturing software systems
  • Qualified candidates must possess basic computer skills including utilizing software such as calibration manager
  • Ability to enter calibration data, write reports, and business correspondences
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret SOP's, technical procedures, and government regulations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from these observations
  • All positions may require regular or occasional lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds, frequently; up to 25 pounds occasionally; and up to 50 pounds infrequently
  • Visual acuity, both close and distant, along with depth perception is necessary in each role, with or without corrective lenses
  • Hand and finger dexterity are integral to all positions
  • The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, confined areas, and refrigerator or freezer temperatures when working in a sterile environment
  • Some positions may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated heights, airborne particles, electrical activities and vibration
  • In addition, some positions may work with or be exposed to, compressed gases and must wear ear protection
  • All environments may be subject to working with or being exposed to cleaning agents
  • Aseptic gowning is required
  • Personal protective equipment (nitrile gloves, clean room socks, face-shields, safety glasses, aprons, steel-toed shoes and powered air purifying respirators) is necessary, depending upon the task at hand

Desired Qualifications

  • Assocaite degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field, preferred
  • Technical training with three (3) years experience in calibration, instrumentation, or electronic troubleshooting, preferred
