Job Summary
Perform precision measurements using CMM, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment while calibrating and maintaining tools according to established procedures. Analyze measurement data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and ensure product quality by developing documented work instructions. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement-related problems and support quality control process improvements. Conduct Gage R&R studies and other measurement system analyses to validate equipment performance. This role requires an Associate's degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing metrology lab, with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and programming metrology equipment such as PC-DMIS and Calypso. Salary ranges from $56,000 to $83,000 depending on experience, with opportunities in Coopersville, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Metrology, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing metrology lab utilizing various measurement instruments
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Hands-on experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation and programming (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso)
- Familiarity with calibration processes and maintaining measurement uncertainty
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with automated metrology equipment (e.g., automated CMMs, optical profilers)
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools
