Metrologist

Job Summary
Metrologist responsible for ensuring product/process reliability through precision measurement and comparison to customer specs. Key duties include performing First Article Inspections, Capability Analysis and GR&R, operating CMM/VMM inspection equipment, calibrating measurement tools, determining conformance to tolerances, identifying out-of-tolerance conditions, conducting tests and measurements for analysis, and communicating results to the manufacturing team. Additional responsibilities include preparing First Article inspection reports and process studies, diagnosing and repairing measurement testing aids, supporting In Process Inspectors as needed, potentially programming CMM/VMM systems, and upholding safe practices per PPE/SDS requirements. The role emphasizes attention to detail, use of quality tools, and collaboration to ensure parts meet inspection requirements; familiarity with lean manufacturing and experience in the medical device industry are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required and a minimum two years of experience in the quality field
- GD&T, blue print reading and capabilities studies experience
- Demonstrated ability in using quality equipment and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Minitab, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently
- Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
- Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks
- Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Typically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
- Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection
