Method Development Chemist

This hands-on, on-site role at Synthomer in Harlow requires designing, developing, validating, and troubleshooting analytical methods to support innovation, quality, and regulatory compliance. The candidate will work closely with Innovation, Technical, and Application teams to deliver robust, harmonised analytical methodologies across the organisation, maintain and calibrate GC/GC-MS, HPLC/LC-MS, and FTIR instrumentation, ensure ISO 17025-compliant validation protocols, and train colleagues on new methods. The position demands 5 days per week in the laboratory, with a focus on rapid contribution and practical, hands-on lab work rather than purely academic profiles. Additional desirable experience includes polymer characterization techniques, DoE or Lean methodologies, and familiarity with SHE standards across an ISO 17025 environment. The role is based at Synthomer’s UK site in Harlow and involves global collaboration to provide analytical support for innovation and quality across the organisation.
