Job Summary
Locate and read residential and commercial utility meters on assigned routes, driving a utility truck to conduct reading, installation, inspection, testing, and repair activities. Replace meters based on work orders, verify data accuracy across house and system records, and download readings into billing systems. Respond to service calls and customer inquiries, program new meters, and obtain water samples for testing. Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment while adhering to all safety policies and company standards. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rough terrain, with the ability to lift over 50 pounds and climb fences. This role supports Inframark's mission to deliver clean water services to municipalities and utility districts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year previous experience and/or training involving meter reading, general maintenance work, customer service, or vehicle operation
- Valid state driver's license
- Minimum driving standards
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to enjoy working outdoors
- Ability to work outdoors through rough terrain
- Ability to travel in inclement weather
- Ability to climb fences
- Ability to frequently bend over to work in utility access areas
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Ability to exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis
- Normal visual acuity

- Successful completion of background screening
