Job Summary
Read industrial, commercial, and residential gas meters using Mobile Collector or handheld Itron devices along assigned routes. Download route data, verify meter identification numbers, and upload readings to ensure accurate billing. Identify non-registering equipment, re-program existing ERT modules, and install new devices on meters. Plan daily routes using maps and report irregularities, gas leaks, or hazardous conditions to supervisors. Respond to customer inquiries and participate in cross-training to maintain competency. Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record. In certain locations, overnight stays may be required for mobile collecting.
Required Qualifications
- Able to provide and maintain a valid Driver's License and safe driving record.
- Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and percentages), punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
- Able to meet all physical requirements, competency-based assessments, pre-employment background checks, pre-employment drug screen and other selection criteria determined by the company.
- In certain locations, it may require overnight stay for mobile collecting
Desired Qualifications
- Work experience in meter reading operations is preferred but not a requirement.
