Meter Electrician C-A

Install and maintain all types of electric meters energized at any voltage in the shop, stations, switchyards, generating plants, and on customer premises. Install, remove, change disconnect, and reconnect meters; test single phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meters for proper operation and accuracy. Program meters and investigate irregular usage, energy diversion, and self-contained service power quality problems by installing event recorders, neutral testers, and producing reports. Repair meters, meter sockets, and enclosures while ordering, receiving, shipping, storing, and inventorying associated equipment. Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms, including reading meters for field orders and cycle billing. Complete required training and qualification programs within 24 months of employment or promotion, including classroom instruction, written examinations, job mentoring, and performance demonstrations. Work independently under semi-direct or general supervision, complying with the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct and reporting hazards.
