Job Summary

Analyze and interpret meteorological, atmospheric, and climatological data from weather stations, radar systems, satellite imagery, and numerical weather prediction models. Conduct detailed assessments of extreme weather events, including tropical cyclones, typhoons, severe thunderstorms, flooding, droughts, heatwaves, and cold waves. Develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term weather forecasts and climate analyses while monitoring regional and global patterns to identify operational risks. Prepare meteorological studies, technical reports, and stakeholder presentations to support environmental impact assessments and disaster risk reduction initiatives. Utilize GIS tools and data visualization platforms to integrate meteorological considerations into project planning. Ensure compliance with industry standards and stay informed on advancements in forecasting techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, Environmental Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in meteorological data analysis and extreme weather analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in weather forecasting, atmospheric monitoring, and interpretation of meteorological data
  • Strong knowledge of severe weather systems and their potential environmental, operational, and societal impacts
  • Experience working with weather forecasting models, radar data, satellite imagery, and climate datasets
  • Proficiency in meteorological analysis and data management tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent technical report writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, or a related field
  • Professional certification from a recognized meteorological organization
  • Experience supporting environmental impact assessments, climate adaptation studies, disaster risk management, or resilience planning
  • Experience using GIS, Python, R, MATLAB, or other analytical and visualization tools
