Job Summary
Forecast weather conditions and produce, anchor, and present weather reports across all platforms for WCBD TV, ensuring content meets journalistic integrity and production standards. Write and deliver daily web stories detailing local forecasts, coordinate weather programming, and respond to breaking or severe weather events as required. Assist in copy editing, research, and promotional activities including public appearances and social media interactions. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, two years of weather reporting experience, and flexibility to work any shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Minimum two years' experience preferred in weather reporting or anchoring
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift

- Baron experience a plus
- Superior on-air presence
- Experience guiding, directing and motivating others
- Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
- Proficiency with computers and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution
- Strong understanding of the field of meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting
