Metals Engineer (Metallurgist)

Job Summary
Lead research, development, and implementation of metal alloys, additives, and industrial processing solutions. Plan and manage R&D projects from concept through pilot trials, scale-up, and commercialization while developing project plans, testing protocols, and timelines. Design and oversee laboratory experiments, analyze results, and coordinate industrial trials to maintain technical documentation and prepare project reports. Collaborate with metallurgical laboratories, subcontractors, and external partners on alloy development, testing, and validation. Manage proof-of-concept projects, customer demonstrations, and technical knowledge databases while supervising junior researchers. Oversee project administration, including budgets, procurement, and expense reporting, and conduct site visits to monitor progress and provide technical support during implementation. Requires a Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering and five years of industrial R&D experience in metal processing.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of industrial R&D experience in metal processing, alloy development, refining, melting, casting, or related metallurgical applications
- Strong expertise in alloy development, process optimization, and scaling laboratory research to industrial production
- Solid knowledge of metallurgical processes, material characterization, and manufacturing practices
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
