Job Summary
Spray coat medical implant devices in preparation for sintering heat treatment using established procedures and the spatulation method. Review documentation to verify part identity, quantities, and coating requirements, then prepare binder solutions per Standard Process Instructions. Visually inspect coated parts for acceptability and ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and within date before operations begin. Perform required maintenance checks on equipment and notify the Team Leader of any discrepancies or problems. Maintain ID and traceability of product and documentation, referencing applicable drawings and Manufacturing Process Instructions. Prior experience as a Level I Spray Coater is required, with advancement to Level II available.
Required Qualifications
- Previous work history
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Good communication skills
- Ability to use, or learn to use job related measuring devices (e.g. calipers and balances)
- Prior experience as a Level I Spray Coater before becoming a Level II spray coater
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings with respect to porous coating of parts
- Ability to use, or be trained to use, comparator for overlay inspection of parts
