Job Summary
Metallographer prepares metallographic samples and conducts microscopic examinations to evaluate microstructure, composition, and material quality. Documents findings and prepares inspection reports for engineering and quality teams; supports failure analysis by identifying root causes of defects; collaborates with manufacturing and engineering to improve processes and material performance; maintains lab equipment and adheres to lab practices; ensures compliance with ASTM, ISO, and AMS standards; physical lab work with PPE and ability to stand for extended periods; position involves third shift. "
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related experience
- Hands-on experience in metallographic sample preparation and analysis
- Knowledge of metallurgical principles
- Familiarity with microscopy techniques
- Ability to interpret technical standards and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
