Job Summary
Metallurgist - technical lead responsible for creating new heat treat processes and procedures, providing technical direction to production, and managing the metallurgical laboratory (including direct reports). Oversees completion of Metallurgical PPAP procedures and assists with customer and regulatory audits (AS9100, Nadcap). Applies metallurgy expertise to research technologies for continuous improvement and ensures compliance with customer specifications, safety, and quality requirements. Includes trouble shooting equipment, determining failure modes in parts and processes, and maintaining focus on customer service and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Communicate well with teammates and customers
- Comply with company safety and quality requirements
- Be comfortable giving technical direction to production personnel.
- Have commercial heat treat knowledge and experience.
- Have 3-5 years of customer service experience.
- Have a thorough understanding of metallurgy and microstructure analysis.
