Job Summary
Monitor and provide technical support for melting, heat treatment, and other metallurgical processes while reviewing inspection results to ensure products meet specifications. Prepare material test certificates, investigate non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions to resolve quality issues without compromising safety. Support material selection, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining quality procedures and ensuring testing equipment remains calibrated. Communicate findings clearly to production, technical, and sales stakeholders while participating in Gemba, 5S, and safety activities. This role offers the opportunity to deepen foundry expertise and contribute directly to manufacturing performance at our Merlimau facility.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science
- At least three years of relevant experience in a foundry, metals manufacturing or similar environment
- Working knowledge of melting, heat treatment, metallurgy and material properties
- Experience supporting process control, product inspection, quality investigations or non-conformance analysis
- Ability to interpret technical requirements and prepare clear reports, procedures and test documentation
- A structured approach to problem-solving and the confidence to make sound technical recommendations
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams in a hands-on plant environment
- Current legal right to work in Malaysia
- Based in Merlimau or within practical commuting distance, with the ability to attend the Merlimau site daily
- Before commencing employment, you will be required to complete a psychometric assessment and a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar improvement methods
