Job Summary
Prepare samples and complete basic analysis procedures while maintaining x-ray on-stream analyzers, including electrical, mechanical, and calibration tasks. Operate piping and vacuum pump systems for on-stream sampling, manage control x-ray spare parts inventory, and monitor daily usage of concentrator reagents and thickener flocculent systems. Perform weekly and monthly mass consumables inventories, coordinate with purchasing for delivery and unloading, and test proposed procedural or reagent changes using standard laboratory methods. Execute daily screen analyses and report on concentrator performance, ensuring reagent identification meets MSHA standards. Utilize mineral processing equipment such as crushing, grinding, and flotation devices to measure results. Work Tuesday through Friday in four 10-hour shifts starting at 6:30 AM. This role supports the Metallurgical Engineering staff in investigatory and daily testing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Drug free status
- Ability to take multiple directives and follow instructions with precision
- MS Office computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, pull, carry and move items of up to 50 lbs and more
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions; dusty, hot weather
- Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels
