Job Summary
Conduct steel cleanness evaluations centered around furnace slag, including carryover, refiner, tundish, and powder slag development. Evaluate impacts to product caused by new equipment, refractory, or practices. Focus on limiting rework operations by improving bloom surface quality. Participate in full-time summer 2027 internship assignments with career planning workshops and networking opportunities with leadership. Gain real-world experience in a team environment while developing skills for industrial, aerospace, and defense markets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester
- Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred majors: Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related
- Statistical analysis skills
