Job Summary
The METALLIC Internship Coordinator will design, coordinate, and deliver work-based learning experiences for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students within Argonne’s METALLIC program.Responsibilities include leading participant recruitment and tracking; onboarding, orientation, and cohort activities; coordinating with national laboratories and university partners; facilitating student mentorship connections; supporting recruitment and cross-lab collaboration; tracking program metrics and preparing quarterly updates and annual summaries. The role requires hands-on program logistics, ensuring alignment with METALLIC goals, and occasional evening/weekend programming. This is a hybrid position with on-site presence 2–3 days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in a STEM field such as Physical Sciences, Engineering, or Biology) or related field (Education, Communications)
- minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in program coordination, educational program support, or related role within a research, academic, or STEM-focused environment
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- knowledge of and experience in coordinating programs for university students and proficiency in data tracking and reporting tools
- experience with coordinating programs, participant recruitment, outreach, or student services in a higher educational or research setting
- excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage and support diverse participant populations
- proficiency in using online application systems, cloud-based collaborative tools, and Microsoft Office
- ability to participate in occasional evening and weekend programming
- familiarity with AI capabilities is a plus but not required
- demonstrated experience of working within a high-functioning matrixed team and dynamic environment

- familiarity with critical minerals and materials supply chain or related industries is a plus
- formal and informal teaching experience not required but a plus
