Job Summary
Metal Structures Technician role focused on preparing, setting up, and operating advanced fabrication and thermal-processing tools (including SPF dies and blanks) to manufacture aircraft-metal components. Responsibilities include cutting and inspecting materials to meet quality specs, maintaining and referencing job files, reading drawings/blueprints, performing adjustments and preventative maintenance on machines, diagnosing equipment issues, programming and operating welding machines, performing finishing tasks (scraping, grinding, deburring, riveting, assembly), and using precision measuring instruments to verify part conformance. The position emphasizes collaboration with Engineering and Planning to develop procedures and support new product implementation, with strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Requires 3+ years in related machining/fabrication roles, proficiency with precision measuring tools, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and a 100% onsite schedule in Auburn, WA. Shift: second shift; US person for export-control compliance; relocation not negotiable; no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics and diagrams
- 3+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators
- 3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8-hour shift
- Must have basic Computer experience and competency
- High school graduate or GED preferred
