Job Summary
Conduct thermal spray coating operations including masking, surface preparation, spraying, unmasking, and inspecting using plasma spray and HVOF equipment. Set up and operate both fully automatic robotic and handheld machinery while monitoring performance and replacing consumable components. Perform daily quality control testing by spraying specimens and complete necessary paperwork for operational signoffs and data collection. Use precision measuring instruments like micrometers and verniers to verify part conditions and interpret approved engineering schematics. Collaborate with process engineers on coating development tests and troubleshooting equipment issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or GED
- 2 years of experience with the use of basic precision measuring instruments including micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
- 2 years of experience with operating various hand and power tools and basic machine tools and equipment
- 2 years of experience with the use of shop math, including fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic geometry
- 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment and operating manufacturing machinery or processes
- Be required to pass a written and practical examination to become a qualified thermal spray operator and maintain status with annual re-qualification
- Employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status

Desired Qualifications
- 2 years minimum experience operating thermal spray equipment
- 2 years minimum experience operating robotic equipment
- 2 years minimum experience masking parts for manufacturing processes
- 2 years minimum experience using blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for manufacturing processes
- 1-year minimum experience reading and interpreting engine manuals
- 1-year minimum experience inspecting aircraft hardware
