Job Summary
Perform inspections of damaged vehicle bodies and structural components to determine repair requirements and establish corrective actions. Fabricate panels, brackets, and supports using cutting, forming, bending, grinding, and welding equipment. Execute MIG, TIG, stick, and oxy-fuel welding operations on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials. Repair and straighten frames, body structures, and compartments using hydraulic equipment and pulling devices. Apply primers, protective coatings, and finish materials to ensure proper appearance and coating adhesion. Identify and repair corrosion damage while applying protective treatments to extend service life. Operates welding machines, plasma cutters, hydraulic presses, and other fabrication tools in a safe and effective manner. Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection documentation, and work orders using government and company maintenance management systems. Coordinate with supervisors, vendors, and parts suppliers to resolve maintenance issues and expedite repairs. Ensure all work complies with technical manuals, OEM specifications, Air Force instructions, and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of automotive and welding experience
- Working knowledge of military and civilian vehicle and equipment maintenance
- CDL Class B
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance
- Access to a federal military installation
- REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative (U.S. passport or military ID)
- Applicable security clearances
- Installation access
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to pass E-Verify
- Ability to start and finish company paid training within contractual requirements
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time
- Ability to climb in and out of a vehicle
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Ability to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
