Job Summary
Metal Manufacturing Technician II responsible for safety, equipment operation, quality, and process efficiency. Key duties include selecting and using PPE, adhering to hazardous energy controls, operating forklifts and cranes with pre-use inspections, rigging with slings and lift devices, machine guarding and maintenance, operating and maintaining chop saws, shears, drill presses, grinders, and other tooling, handling materials, inventory and waste streams, reading blueprints, performing quality checks, data entry for quality tracking, and utilizing SAP for material movements and confirmations. Applies 5S methodology, conducts surface preparation and painting operations, and supports production with problem solving, non-routine tasks, and adherence to SOPs/JSA. Strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork with proficiency in measuring instruments and SAP systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or related field
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency with measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, squares)
- Basic computer skills (email, safety systems, Workday)
- Proficiency in SAP for material movements and confirmations
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
